The conversation about whether Nebraska can return to its glory days of the 1980s and 1990s seems like the conversation that will never end.
That talk continued on Monday. It came via running back Dedrick Mills. He returned to the field Saturday in the Huskers’ win against Purdue. Riding some momentum, it appears Mills and his teammates are confident and excited to prove that this is a program on the rise.
Asked why NU is hungry, Dedrick Mills said part of it stems from:
"There's a lot of negative talk on Nebraska. We want to prove everybody wrong. These past few weeks, we've come out every day just going strong at practice, even when we're not supposed to hit people."

Dedrick MIlls: "We're really hungry because we're trying to get Nebraska back to where it used to be."

As mentioned, this is not a new conversation. This has been happening for years now, and seems to have gotten even louder with Scott Frost coming home to his alma mater to take over as head coach. It appears that Mills and his teammates are having these conversations as well.
Looking at the next two weeks, there’s a serious chance for Nebraska to notch a couple of wins and build some serious momentum entering 2021.
It starts Saturday against Minnesota. If the Gophers are healthy enough to play, there’s a great chance for the Huskers to make it two wins in a row. The following week, the Big Ten West and East are playing crossover games. Nebraska will likely get a winnable game out of that scenario based on how things play out.
If Mills and the rest of the Husker program are serious about getting Nebraska back to its place near the top, it starts by winning these next two games.
