A pair of B1G programs are in the mix to land West Virginia transfer guard Sean McNeil, according to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

Monday, Rothstein reported that McNeil has narrowed down his list of top choices as a transfer destination. Making the cut out of the B1G were Indiana and Ohio State. Other schools still in consideration are Virginia, Louisville, Cincinnati and Texas Tech.

McNeil averaged 12.2 points and 2.5 rebounds for the Mountaineers during the 2021-22 season. He shot better than 41% from the floor and was nearly an 87% shooter from the free throw line.

McNeil has spent the past three seasons at West Virginia, appearing in 89 games with 55 started. He started in all 32 contests at WVU last year.

For his career, McNeil is averaging 10.1 points and 2 rebounds per contest. He would add depth and experience to both the Indiana and Ohio State rosters for the 2022-23 season.

Both Indiana and Ohio State earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament in 2022. The Hoosiers defeated Wyoming in the First Four before falling to St. Mary’s in the Round of 64. OSU knocked off Loyola Chicago in its first game but lost to Villanova in the Round of 32.

McNeil will have two years of eligibility to use at his next destination.
