Bailey Zappe’s incredible 2021 season is now a part of the FBS history books!

The star quarterback for Western Kentucky entered Saturday’s Boca Raton Bowl with a shot to take down some prestigious records. He did, and then some, as the Hilltoppers have put up 52 points (and counting) vs. Appalachian State.

Zappe surpassed the single-season mark for passing yards and tied the single-season TD mark with a 4-touchdown performance in the first half. It did not take long for him to break the all-time touchdown mark after halftime.

With a touchdown toss to Mitchell Tinsley, Zappe set the single-season touchdown mark with his 61st passing touchdown of the year:

That drive gave Zappe 5,902 yards and 61 touchdowns on the year. He broke BJ Symons mark of 5,833 yards and Joe Burrow’s touchdown mark of 60.

Zappe has since added on with touchdown No. 62 on the year. For the game, Zappe is 32-for-43 with 418 yards and 6 touchdowns entering the 4th quarter.
