Brian Brohm ended his time in West Lafayette with a massively lopsided 63-7 loss to LSU in the VRBO Citrus Bowl on Monday.

Despite the loss, the interim head coach spoke positively of his team, and what lies ahead with incoming head coach Ryan Walters. Speaking to the media after the bowl game, Brohm stated “Coach Walters will inherit a program with a great group of guys.”

Brohm took over head coaching duties for the bowl game after his brother, Jeff, left the position vacant to become the head coach at Louisville. Brohm will join his brother in Louisville as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach next season.

Addressing his team after the loss, Brohm said “We wanted to see you guys be successful in the future and we wanted to see you in the Big Ten Championship next year.”

Brohm also addressed the loss with the media, saying “We believed in what we were doing. They practiced hard. I thought they gave great effort today and we didn’t have enough and didn’t execute enough to win the football game.”
