Head coach Ryan Day and his Ohio State Buckeyes had the weekend off.
The break wasn’t planned, as Maryland was forced to cancel its November 14 game against the Buckeyes due to an increase in positive COVID-19 cases.
The Big Ten has opted to not make up the game at a later date.
Day has to prepare his Buckeyes team for a hot Indiana program this coming Saturday.
Indiana brings its 4-0 record into Columbus, coming off a dominating 24-0 win over Michigan State in East Lansing last Saturday.
Day addressed some issues, including the challenge of taking on a rolling Hoosiers team in his weekly press conference on Tuesday.
Ryan Day is here to preview the Indiana game.
He says Indiana has the benefit of playing four straight weeks, and while they did everything they could to replicate that, it's been a challenge. pic.twitter.com/PzgKkloaBU

Day says Zach Harrison's "best football is ahead of him."
He says Harrison is working hard in practice, and as they continue rotating, he'll just keep getting better.

Day says there isn't really any area where benefitted in particular from not playing. But the likelihood of injury from a game and exposure to the virus from traveling were down.

Ryan Day meeting with the media this afternoon.
He said it's hard to lose out on a game after already missing out on a full spring and a normal preseason, and Indiana was able to stay in rhythm by playing last week, but Ohio State tried to get game-like reps in practice. pic.twitter.com/lQGOcXoPqt

#Buckeyes Ryan Day on #Hoosiers QB Michael Penix Jr.: "He's fearless. you've got to give him a lot of credit. Right now, he's playing almost perfectly. … He's a very competitive player, as you can tell."
— Adam Rittenberg (@ESPNRittenberg) November 17, 2020
Day says Indiana deserves credit because they're playing really well right now in all three phases.
"They're the ones who deserve the credit more than anyone else."

Day says without a crowd in the stadium, he'd rather play at noon than at night.
"If it's going to be a packed house and electric environment, that's one thing" but this year, he'd rather play at noon.

Day says "it's a hard pill to swallow" to do everything the Buckeyes needed to in order to play, and still not get to play Maryland last weekend.
But he says the team has handled itself maturely.

Ryan Day: “Whether somebody’s 4-0 or 0-4, we have to win every game here.”
Day said there’s no margin of error for Ohio State.
— Eleven Warriors (@11W) November 17, 2020
Day says that the way Indiana has played has cut down the Buckeyes' margin for error, and they have to be ready to go and ready to play four quarters.

Day says they're frequently seeing stuff that feels like it shouldn't happen this time of year, and then remember that this is still just three games in, and not where they normally are in mid-November.
— BuckeyeScoop (@BuckeyeScoop) November 17, 2020
Day says he's not that surprised to see Indiana where they are right now. They've upgraded their personnel, and have really good schemes on both sides of the ball.
He says last year's game was something of an outlier because it was early and Michael Penix didn't play.

Day says he worries about a lot of things, but he doesn't worry about whether they're behind other conferences because they've played fewer games during the season.

Day says that Justin Fields has had a good pocket to throw out of, which has helped him have confidence and poise to stay in there.
