It’s a bye week for Ohio State.
The Buckeyes will be taking some time to get some rest and prepare for their game with Indiana in a couple Saturdays, along with getting some recruiting efforts in, according to head coach Ryan Day.
The Buckeyes will be heading to Bloomington to take on Indiana and a squad that has fallen short of expectations this season. The Hoosiers weren’t able to build on the momentum from last season, but the Hoosiers did give OSU some trouble last season and the scheme and personnel are still very similar.
On Tuesday, Day met with the media to give some updates on what is happening in Columbus during the off time, as well as some other comments.
Here is some of what Day had to say.
Ryan Day's press conference has begun. He said he expects RB Miyan Williams to return for the Indiana game on Oct. 23.

Ryan Day said he isn't sure whether Cameron Brown will be able to practice this week after leaving the Maryland game early, but he hopes Brown will be able to play against Indiana.

"I don't know how well I'm still sleeping, we've got a lot of football left, we haven't done anything left." Day said he wasn't sleeping well earlier in the season. Day says "we still have a young team, that hasn't changed."

Day when told of the comment on the Maryland broadcast that RT Dawand Jones' jersey is the biggest Nike has ever made. "I'm sure it is." Joked that it'd be biggest except if someone like Shaquille O'Neal played football.

Day said it's still too early to make a final judgment on the responsibility changes he made on defensive staff but said he's been pleased with how the staff has jelled. Again credits Kerry Coombs for his role in it after play-calling duties were given to Matt Barnes.

Day said OSU linebackers have gotten better every game. Said it has helped that two players have rotated at each LB spot to keep them fresh.

Ryan Day on the defensive staff realignment, with Matt Barnes taking over play calling responsibilities from Kerry Coombs: “I've got a lot of respect for the whole staff for how they've handled it, particularly Kerry.” Says Coombs has shown how much he loves Ohio State.

Ryan Day on Ohio State’s linebackers: “I think they're getting better every game they play.” He thinks it helps that the Buckeyes are able to rotate two players at each position, with Teradja Mitchell and Steele Chambers playing Will and Cody Simon and Tommy Eichenberg at Mike.

Ryan Day on this year in college football: “It's been a strange year, and I think that the teams that just continue to get better week in and week out are the ones that are gonna show up in November.” But he says Buckeyes’ focus is on getting better right now and beating Indiana.
