Ohio State is off to a great start in 2020!
Though Nebraska fought hard and was able to keep the game close until halftime, a big third quarter allowed the Buckeyes to build a lead. After that, it was a smooth fourth quarter as Ryan Day’s team rolled to a 52-17 win in Week 1.
To the surprise of no one, star quarterback Justin Fields was the driving force offensively. He completed 20 of 21 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns while also leading Ohio State with 54 rushing yards and adding another touchdown.
After the win, Day met with the media to go over what stood out and some of the players that were dinged up in the game:
Ryan Day: “To beat a Big Ten team like Nebraska, 52-17, that's a pretty impressive day … We're very proud of what we did today.”

Ryan Day on Ohio State defensive tackle Haskell Garrett: “To have him there was a huge boost to the inside guys … His experience and his ability, it was great to have him in there.”

#Buckeyes Ryan Day on WR Chris Olave, who left with an apparent head injury: "He seemed good. He was in good spirits, had a good look in his eye. That’s all I know at this point." Day says they'll know more Sunday.

“When it’s going fast and you’re trying to mack decisions on how to get a guy down, it’s hard,” Ryan Day said of Nebraska’s targeting penalties.
Said he doesn’t think there was any ill intent.
