Head coach Scott Frost got his biggest win in his four years with Nebraska as the Huskers dominated Northwestern at home 56-7. This win was also the biggest in a B1G game for Nebraska.
They started the game with three touchdowns in their first three drives with all of them coming from rushing touchdowns from dual-threat quarterback Adrian Martinez. Nebraska outgained Northwestern in total yards 657-to-256, and first downs accounted for 28-to-17.
This was the most complete game for Nebraska on both sides of the ball. They didn’t turn the ball over, and they were highly efficient in the RPO-schemes led by Martinez. Nebraska’s defense held Northwestern to only 37 rushing yards on 26 carries for an average of 1.4 yards per carry.
While Nebraska (3-3) isn’t going to contend for a B1G title, they are one step to potentially going to their first post-season bowl game for the first time since 2016. If Nebraska gets to a bowl season, it would be a huge step in the right direction for Frost’s Cornhuskers.

Scott Frost says Yant was 25 pounds overweight when camp started and he told Yant he wasn’t going to play until he got back into shape. Now he’s there and you see the result.
“He’s a lot quicker at 232 than he is at 258,” Frost said.

Scott Frost on Jaquez Yant, trying to slow the hype train best he can before it leaves the station: "Let not make him like Rozier right now. He had one good game." But he said Yant sure looks better running at 232 pounds than 258.

Frost: "We've been playing pretty well since the first game. I was pretty down the first game … Since then we've been consistently getting better." But also noted they need to play better still because the schedule only gets harder.
See Michigan next week.
