Nebraska ended its season on a positive note.
Despite finishing with a 3-5 record, the Huskers were able to squeak out a road win against Rutgers on Friday night in Piscataway, 28-21. Nebraska needed a pair of touchdowns in the second half to overcome a 21-14 deficit to close out the year with a win.
The Huskers struggled with penalties and turnovers, getting flagged 9 times and losing the football on 4 additional instances. Still, the Huskers were able to pile up 620 yards of offense, with a good chunk of those coming on the ground.
Dedrick Mills ended the day with 191 yards to lead the Huskers in the rushing attack, but Adrian Martinez followed it with 157 yards of his own. The Nebraska defense also stepped up in a big way, holding Rutgers to just 252 yards of offense for the game.
Head coach Scott Frost knows it wasn’t the prettiest game to watch, but was proud of his team for fighting through the errors and coming away with a victory. Here’s what the head coach had to say following Nebraska’s win to close out the 2020 campaign:
Scott Frost says on BTN he will talk to the team about a bowl game. He thought he'd do a lot for the team, but, at the same time, it's been a long year.

Frost says he'll let the players decide whether they want to play a bowl.
he also mentions that if Nebraska has to play in 6 or 7 days, he's not sure NU would want to do that.

Nebraska coach Scott Frost on a potential bowl game: "Some of our guys haven’t seen their families since March or April. It’s been a long haul." He reiterated that he'll talk to the players and gauge their interest level. "I'm going to let the kids decide what they want to do."

Scott Frost: "It’s hard to overturn four turnovers, a fake punt and a kick-return touchdown."
That's an understatement.
