Like much of the 2021 season, Nebraska football lost yet another close game. This time it was against one of the hottest teams in the B1G. No. 15 Wisconsin used an incredible performance from freshman running back Braelon Allen to get past the Cornhuskers in a 35-28 win.
At the end of the day, Nebraska couldn’t stop Allen. He finished with 228 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns.
Adrian Martinez and TE Austin Allen were one of the few bright spots for the Cornhuskers. Martinez accounted for 351 yards passing, and 23 yards rushing with 2 total touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Austin Allen and Martinez also connected a few times through the air. Austin Allen hauled in 7 receptions for 143 yards receiving.
Now the team looks up at No. 17 Iowa who is still chasing a B1G West title. No. 15 Wisconsin is still ahead of the Hawkeyes in the standings since the head-to-head win in Week 9.
The Hawkeyes have won the last 6 meetings with Nebraska although the Cornhuskers lead the all-time series 29-19. No. 17 Iowa (9-2) and Nebraska (3-8) face off in Lincoln at 1:30 p.m. ET on the Big Ten Network.

Frost on the importance of limiting mistakes against Iowa:
“I think they do a good job in all three phases. Kirk does a great job, Brian (Ferentz, the OC) does a great job with the offense. You have to beat them, they’re not going to lose the game.”

Frost said he’ll encourage Adrian Martinez to walk on Senior Day, but also said Martinez hasn’t made a decision on if he’s returning or not in 2022. #Huskers

More Frost on Smothers: "He's really sharp. He's not the fresh-faced kid that's going to get surprised by a bunch of things or pressures or different looks. He's really smart and knows our offense, and can operate it. So we're going to give him the ball and let him try to do it."
