Four of the winningest teams in college football play in the B1G. Sure, two of those teams — Penn State and Nebraska — were late additions, but their status among the most successful remains the same.
The other two programs from the B1G? You can probably guess. Michigan and Ohio State.
And while we know how those teams rank in terms of total number of wins, 247Sports recently took on the challenge of ranking the 10 winningest programs in college football history based on winning percentage.
You might find it interesting how that breaks down.
There’s a surprise at No. 1 on the list, which belongs to Boise State. Here’s a look at where the four B1G programs ranked, based on winning percentage:
- No. 1: Boise State Broncos (.731)
- No. 2: Ohio State Buckeyes (.730)
- No. 5: Michigan Wolverines (.727)
- No. 9: Nebraska Huskers (.688)
- No. 10: Penn State Nittany Lions (.686)
Is that surprising? Or about where you’d expect?
