Don’t look now, but the B1G East now has 4 teams ranked inside the top 11 on the latest AP Poll.

Three of those teams are undefeated in No. 4 Penn State, No. 9 Michigan, and No. 11 Michigan State. No. 7 Ohio State is 4-1, but the Buckeyes are still undefeated in conference play to start the year.

With Maryland getting blown out by Iowa in Week 5, the race to Indianapolis continues to take shape with the Nittany Lions, Wolverines, Spartans, and Buckeyes all in the running. Here’s how ESPN’s FPI is projecting the B1G East race entering Week 6 in terms of odds to reach Indy:

  • Ohio State – 51%
  • Michigan – 29.2%
  • Penn State – 12%
  • Michigan State – 7.7%

Despite the loss to Oregon, Ryan Day’s Ohio State squad is still given the best shot to win the division. Additionally, the FPI is giving the Buckeyes a 12.1% chance of winning out the rest of the way.

There is still a long way to go in conference play, and this week’s Penn State-Iowa game will likely play a key role in both divisions. Either way, the B1G East is now much more competitive than was expected to be at the start of the season.
