Will Howard delivers flawless opening drive vs. Iowa with TD pass to Emeka Egbuka

Will Howard came out slinging the football against Iowa, and he was lights-out on Ohio State’s very first drive of the game.
The Hawkeyes opened the game on offense, but it did not take long before Ohio State forced the first punt of the game. That boot forced the Buckeyes back to their own 12-yard line to start things off.
However, that field position did not deter Howard and the offense. They would embark on a clinical, 14-play drive that covered over 7 and a half minutes of game time.
Once inside the red zone, Howard would find Emeka Egbuka for a 14-yard score. It was a nice window where Howard fit the throw for an easy opening score against Iowa.

With the touchdown, Howard wrapped up a perfect opening drive by completing all 6 of his throws. He accounted for 46 yards through the air with the touchdown and added a 7-yard carry to his tally.
Not only was Howard perfect, but it’s a significant drive against Iowa’s defense. It is the first time Kirk Ferentz’s Hawkeyes have allowed a touchdown on the first drive of the game since 2022 against Michigan. That was a stretch of 27 straight games without a touchdown on the first possession.
