Will Howard reveals biggest strength of Emeka Egbuka’s skill set

Will Howard knows Emeka Egbuka is one of the best receivers in the entire country. However, if anyone forgot that fact, Egbuka reminded them with a 3-touchdown performance against Iowa.
It was a career-best afternoon for the star receiver, but it is not just his touchdown-scoring ability that sets Egbuka apart. At his Tuesday press conference, Howard was asked about what makes Egbuka special, and he had 2 areas specifically identified.
Howard pointed to Egbuka’s versatility and unselfishness within the offense:
“I think his versatility is what makes him so good — and he’ll never complain. If he doesn’t score a touchdown and JJ and Carnell have 4, he will not say a word,” explained Howard. “He’ll be happy as ever for those guys. He goes out and blocks, and you saw that in the Michigan State game. He’s pancaking dudes in the secondary, he’s pancaking linebackers.
“He can do so much. He can line up in the backfield, we can have him run the ball from the backfield. His versatility presents so many challenges for a defense and you never know how he’s going to hit you. He can run inside and run outside, he runs unbelievable routes. I mean, there’s not many bad things you can say about the kid.”
Egbuka’s versatility and his leadership has been a major key for the Buckeyes. Along with freshman phenom Jeremiah Smith, it’s possible Ohio State has the best WR tandem in the entire country, and they’ll be up against a stiff test vs. Oregon Saturday night.
Ohio State is headed toward the weekend as a 3-point road favorite per DraftKings. Fans can use Tradition’s DraftKings Ohio bonus to get in on the action.
