Will Muschamp made sure to make a joke at the expense of Kirk Herbstreit when asked about the 1993 Citrus Bowl. Muschamp and Herbstreit played against each other in that game.

Muschamp talked about how there was a luncheon ahead of the game. Muschamp played DB for Georgia, while Herbstreit was the starting QB for Ohio State. Muschamp said that Herbstreit got up and threw a pass and that’s when the former Georgia DB knew the Bulldogs could win.

“We had a luncheon,” said Muschamp. “Herbstreit got up & threw a pass across the room & I knew we had a shot to win. Make sure he knows I said that.”

Believe it or not, Georgia did win that game. The Bulldogs beat the Buckeyes by a score of 21-14. That was the only other time the two teams have met on the football field.

Ohio State has a chance to tie up the all-time series on New Year’s Eve.
