Michigan quarterback Wilton Speight’s father, Bobby, publicly described how his son was treated in West Lafayette, Ind., after fracturing three back vertebrae during Michigan’s game against Purdue on Sept. 23.

Bobby Speight’s said Purdue did not have X-ray capabilities at Ross-Ade Stadium, that there wasn’t a police escort for the van taking his son to the student health center, and that Speight, who was in his uniform and pain, was stopped and asked for his insurance information before being treated.

Spright’s father emailed Purdue’s president Mitch Daniels for an explanation.

A major Purdue donor, Joe Norsworthy, took to Twitter to voice his frustration for the facilities, saying Purdue should be “embarrassed and ashamed,” especially when it routinely contacts alums to assist with big capital campaigns.

Purdue is also receiving criticism for the quality of the visiting locker room and if it is up to proper standards. Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh was the first to raise concern about the facilities after the game on Sept. 23.
