Fans excited to get back inside Camp Randall Stadium this fall received some good news from Wisconsin AD Chris McIntosh.

On Saturday, head coach Paul Chryst and the Badgers held practice inside the stadium with fans in attendance. It was the first time in quite some time that fans were allowed back inside after the 2020 season was held without fans in attendance.

After the practice, McIntosh addressed the fans on hand. According to Jeff Potrykus with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, McIntosh said he is excited for things to get “back to business” this fall:

“I am so excited for our fans to get back here in Camp Randall on Sept. 4 and get back to business,” athletic director Chris McIntosh told a crowd of several thousand fans who attended football practice Saturday morning.

“This is a building,” McIntosh said. “It becomes Camp Randall when people like you come inside and cheer our kids. … We’re thrilled that you’re here today and we can’t wait for you to come back on Sept. 4.”

Along with fans, Wisconsin’s marching band was back inside the stadium for Saturday’s practice. Bands were also not allowed in stadiums during the 2020 season:

It is shaping up to be quite the environment for the season opener on Sept. 4.
