Wisconsin added some much-needed depth at wide receiver for the 2025 season, getting a commitment from Hawaii transfer Dekel Crowdus on Wednesday afternoon.
As a junior at Hawaii last season, Crowdus had 16 catches for 402 yards and 4 touchdowns. While his statistics aren’t eye-popping, his 25.1 yards per catch with the Rainbow Warriors was, and Wisconsin hopes he can stretch the field the same way this fall in the Big Ten.
Crowdus, a former 4-star recruit, also had portal offers from Arkansas, Kansas, Utah and West Virginia, among others.
Crowdus has already had a whirlwind college football career. He’s from SEC country, and the native of Lexington, Ky. spent the first 3 years of his career down the road at Kentucky. Crowdus didn’t make an impact for the Wildcats though, only catching 4 passes for 82 yards during his time there, with all of that coming during the 2022 season. He appeared in a combined 20 games with the Wildcats in those 3 years.
In addition to his 4-star status, Crowdus was the 48th-ranked wide receiver in the Class of 2021, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Crowdus is Wisconsin’s 4th commitment from the spring portal. The others are tight end Lance Mason (Missouri State), offensive lineman Davis Heinzen (Central Michigan) and long-snapper Nick Levy (Purdue).
