Wisconsin still has some work to do for the class of 2022, but the Badgers did land another in-state prospect over the weekend.

For Paul Chryst and company, the Badgers currently have just two commitments for the 2022 cycle. That includes in-state lineman Barrett Nelson, who committed Saturday.

According to Evan Flood with Badger247, Nelson is the son of former Badger Todd Nelson and younger brother of current Wisconsin lineman Jack Nelson. Now, Barrett will follow in their footsteps after committing to the Badgers.

Nelson is rated the No. 10 overall prospect out of Wisconsin for the class of 2022. An offensive tackle, Nelson also held offers from Nebraska, Iowa State, Purdue, and Kent State and the Division I level.

Nelson’s commitment is just the second for Wisconsin’s class, joining in-state quarterback Myles Burkett. Hopefully, the Badgers can start to round out the recruiting class now that the recruiting dead period is over with.
