Wisconsin moved to 2-0 on the season, but not all news was good news Saturday.
The Badgers wasted little time jumping all over Central Michigan Saturday afternoon. They cruised to a huge win behind another strong offensive showing and stifling defensive effort. Unfortunately, Wisconsin will be missing one defender for the rest of 2019.

Safety Scott Nelson announced on Twitter that he will be out for the rest of the season. He was originally injured in the Week 1 opener against South Florida and did not see the field against CMU. Any hopes that he could return soon were quickly doused.

Nelson had 41 tackles, an interception, and six pass breakups in 2018. He had four tackles before getting injured in the opener, and his absence leaves a void with Wisconsin’s defense.
