Wisconsin safety D’Cota Dixon was recognized for his good work in the community and has been named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. The announcement was made on Thursday.

Dixon is one of just 11 FBS players presented with the honor. He was one of two B1G players mentioned, along with Nebraska defensive lineman Freedom Akinmoladun.

“Football programs across the country do an excellent job of giving back to their local communities and helping those in need,” AFCA Executive Director Todd Berry said in a statement. “The 2018 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team honors those select few student-athletes and one head coach who go above and beyond in the service of others.”

Dixon has been a key member of Wisconsin’s stingy defense over the last three seasons. He’s totaled 149 total tackles in his career to go along with five interceptions and a handful of pass break-ups. He currently leads the Badgers in total tackles with 14.
