Wisconsin escapes with nail-biting win over Penn State, gets rematch with Iowa on Friday

The second night of the B1G Tournament ended in thrilling fashion. The result was a sigh of relief for Wisconsin and heartbreak for Penn State.
Wisconsin escaped with a 75-74 win over Penn State to advance to the quarterfinals on Friday. At one point in the second half, the Badgers blew an 18-point lead with less than 10 minutes in the game, appearing to be able to shift into cruise control.
But the Nittany Lions fought back valiantly, even having a chance to win on the final possession. On Penn State’s final possession, Nate Reuvers came up with a huge block and Brad Davison corralled the ball while falling out of bounds, calling a timeout and securing a win for the Badgers.

Three Badgers scored in double figures, led by Aleem Ford who scored 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor. Davis scored 15 and Jonathan Davis gave Wisconsin 10 points off the bench.
Sam Sessoms was the hero for Penn State in the second half, scoring 18 points off the bench and getting a flurry late in the game to keep the Lions alive. Myreon Jones added 11 points and Jamari Wheeler scored 10.
Wisconsin ended a three-game losing streak with Thursday’s win and improved to 17-11 on the season. The Badgers lost both regular season matchups to the Hawkeyes.
