The 2020 college basketball scheduling carousel rolls on. The latest stop is in Madison.
Originally, Wisconsin was scheduled to play Northern Iowa. However, the Panthers paused all team activity Sunday due to the pandemic and injuries. Without a game until Dec. 21, the Badgers moved quickly and found another Missouri Valley Conference opponent in Loyola out of Chicago.

It took Wisconsin less than 12 hours to schedule this new game. Very impressive work by the Badgers, who will now tip off on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
This game works out well for the Badgers, who wanted another tune-up before Big Ten play starts on Dec. 21. As for the Ramblers, they have been looking for more high-profile games. This certainly will qualify as that.
It seems like Wisconsin has been hit hard by the scheduling bug as hard as anyone so far this season. The Badgers didn’t get to play Louisville as part of the B1G/ACC Challenge. They instead took on Rhode Island and won 73-62.
Soon, Big Ten play will start, but it’s hardly possible that the scheduling changes will stop. The thing to watch will be if they will try and reschedule games or just cancel like they did in football.
