Wisconsin has hired its next general manager to help lead its football program, according to a report.
Per ESPN’s Pete Thamel, the Badgers are hiring Morocco Brown for the role. Brown has a lengthy NFL résumé that includes time with the Colts, Browns, Commanders and Bears.
Most recently, Brown was the chief personnel executive for the Colts.
This is a significant hire for the Badgers as they look to break through under head coach Luke Fickell in 2026. Wisconsin went just 4-8 overall and 2-7 in Big Ten play last season, which was Fickell’s third year with the program.
Wisconsin athletic director Chris McIntosh vowed to provide a higher level of support for Fickell and the program following last season’s disappointing results.
A general manager with NFL experience could be beneficial for Wisconsin as it looks to upgrade its talent level in future cycles.
Wisconsin’s 2026 recruiting class ranked No. 65 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Wisconsin is just 16-21 over Fickell’s first 3 seasons at the helm. The Badgers have missed out on bowl eligibility in back-to-back years for the first time since 1990-92 — the first 3 years of the Barry Alvarez era in Madison.
