Wisconsin’s stunning 28-17 win over Iowa on Saturday night was huge for a number for reason.
The victory kept the Heartland Trophy in Madison, the Badgers are now 1-0 B1G play and it marked the 700th win in program history. What a thrilling way to hit such an incredible milestone.
Alex Hornibrook connected with A.J. Taylor on a 17-yard touchdown pass to give the Badgers a go-ahead score with less than a minute to play. Wisconsin’s defense then intercepted Nate Stanley to seal the victory.
700 wins.

Wisconsin gets its first win of the B1G season and, presumably, has a major advantage in the West.
So yeah, Hornibrook’s pass was relevant for a lot of reasons. The Badgers may have saved their season Saturday night, while making a little history, as well.
