Wisconsin honors assistant coach’s family during lineup announcements after tragedy

Sports are sometimes the greatest thing to help players, coaches or fans get through tragedy. That was the case Friday night for Wisconsin assistant coach Howard Moore.
Moore and his family were involved in a horrific car accident in May. His wife, Jennifer and daughter, Jaidyn, died in the crash while Moore suffered third-degree burns. Then in June, he suffered a heart attack, so he remains in a long-term care facility.
His son, Jerrell, survived the accident with his father. In Wisconsin’s second home game against Eastern Illinois on Friday, the team paid tribute to the Moore family and announced Jerrell as part of the starting lineup.
