Rarely used kicker Zach Hintze may actually have the highlight of the first half for Wisconsin!
With the time running down in the first half, the Badgers carried a 21-17 lead over Purdue. After forcing a quick punt late in the second quarter, the offense had a chance to put more points on the board.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t a lot of time left to get deep into Boilermaker territory. With time running out, head coach Paul Chryst called on Zach Hintze to attempt a 62-yard field goal.
He drilled it:

Though the ball almost scraped through the backside of the goalpost, that is still a perfect kick for three points. Wisconsin Football indicated it is a new school record for the Badgers:

According to the FOX broadcast, Hintze primarily serves as the kickoff specialist for the badgers. Sports Reference only has Hintze down for one other field goal attempt in his career, a miss in 2018. He’ll likely remember this one for a long time!
