Wisconsin lands 2026 commitment from California QB Ryan Hopkins

Wisconsin has landed a quarterback commitment in its 2026 recruiting class.
Ryan Hopkins took to social media on Sunday evening to announce his plans to play for the Badgers.

Out of perennial power Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, Hopkins is listed as measuring 6-3 and 195 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Hopkins is rated 3-stars, the No. 29 quarterback, No. 47 player in the state of California and No. 528 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.
Hopkins picked up scholarships from coast to coast in this stage of his recruitment. Michigan State, Arizona, Kentucky, Oklahoma State, UCF, Utah, Virginia and Washington were among the schools to show interest in Hopkins. He was considering Mizzou, Cal and Duke before committing to Wisconsin.
In March, Hopkins turned heads at a Nike Elite 11 event in Los Angeles.

Hopkins will now try to recruit his supporting cast in Madison. With Hopkins’ commitment, Wisconsin has 5 verbal pledges on board for 2026.
