Wisconsin is working hard to put together a strong 2027 recruiting class. On Thursday, though, the Badgers pulled in one of the top players in the country for their 2028 class.

Jalanie George, an edge rusher from Goodyear, Arizona — a suburb of Phoenix — has announced his commitment to the Badgers. George chose the Badgers from a top four that included Auburn, Miami, and Washington.

According to 247Sports’ Composite, George is a five-star recruit, the No. 7 edge rusher in the country, and the No. 27 player in the nation regardless of position. He joins a class that included linebacker Cale Britt and offensive lineman Brock Barrows.

George, who currently has 36 offers, enjoyed a solid sophomore season at Desert Edge High School. He recorded 54 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and a massive 16.0 tackles for a loss.

While the Badgers’ 2028 class is still in its early stages, the 2027 class is currently ranked No. 24 in the country. It’s headlined by Mekhi Williams, the No. 10 safety in the country, and Kingston Allen, the No. 7 running back.

On the field, Wisconsin is off to a 3-1 start. It’s the Badgers’ best four-game start under Luke Fickell. In Week 4, they defeated Penn State 24-20 to open their Big Ten slate 1-0. They’ll take on Michigan State in Week 5.
