Wisconsin is officially on the board with the 2023 recruiting class.

Friday afternoon, the Badgers received a verbal pledge from 3-star linebacker Tyler Jansey, a native of Batavia, Ill. He commits to Wisconsin over offers from 6 other programs. Jansey made the announcement with a post on Twitter.

“I would like to thank the coaching staff and the town of Batavia for making me the football player and man I am today,” Jansey wrote. “Thank you to all the coaches who have recruited me and spent time on my recruitment.

“With that being said, I am excited to announce my commitment to the University of Wisconsin! Go Badgers!”

There are currently no composite rankings for Jansey, but he is listed as the No. 47 linebacker and No. 12 prospect out of Illinois, per 247Sports. No national rating was provided.

Jansey is listed at 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds. He picked Wisconsin over offers from Eastern Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), New Mexico State, Toledo and Western Michigan.
