Wisconsin is working hard on the 2026 recruiting class, and the Badgers secured a key win Sunday evening in the form of a Florida athlete.
The player is Zion Legree, a 3-star prospect out of Destin High School. Legree is a multi-sports athlete who also plays basketball, and he originally committed to Ole Miss in November.
However, Wisconsin entered the scene with an offer in May, and Legree opted to reopen his recruitment at the end of May. Now, he’s committed to Luke Fickell and the Badgers.
According to the 247 Sports Composite, Legree is a 3-star recruit and the 34th overall athlete in the country for the class of 2026. He’s also the 74th overall player out of Florida for the cycle.
With the commitment, Legree becomes the 2nd-highest-rated player for the Badgers currently committed. Wisconsin holds 13 overall commitments, a group that ranks 33rd nationally per the 247 Sports Composite.
At this point, the Badgers still have a ways to go before wrapping up the class, and that’s a good thing. Wisconsin is currently 11th in the Big Ten for the 2026 recruiting class, and that’s after a 27th finish nationally in 2025. The Badgers have not produced a top-25 recruiting class since 2021 under Paul Chryst.
