Minnesota finally took Paul Bunyan’s Axe away from Wisconsin last season when the Golden Gophers went to Camp Randall Stadium and won 37-15. The prior 14 meeting went Wisconsin’s way.
But last season, it was Minnesota’s turn. The Golden Gophers celebrated with it in ways Wisconsin didn’t. Players other than the seniors were allowed to chop with it.

This year, Wisconsin took it back. Badgers LB Chris Orr, after the win, talked about how Minnesota wanted to profit off of the Axe a year ago. After the Badgers knocked off the Gophers this time around, Wisconsin got to celebrate with the axe.
They had players chopping with it and the team even went to midfield at Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium and pretending to row a boat with the Axe, mocking one of Minnesota’s slogans, “Row the boat.”
After the game, here’s Orr talking about how Minnesota disrespected the Axe a year ago and why the Badgers went to Minnesota’s midfield to celebrate with it:
Wisconsin fans and players feel "disrespected" because Minnesota allowed their fans to touch and see the Axe?
Are. You. Bleeping. Kidding. Me.
Is this what we've come to as a society? https://t.co/4WS7xRrdqx

Interesting perspective. Do you agree with this, Gopher and Badger fans?
