Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor has been named one of three finalists for the Doak Walker Award, presented to the top running back in college football. The announcement came on Monday.
Taylor joined Penn State’s Saquon Barkley and Stanford’s Bryce Love as the three finalists for the award. The Wisconsin freshman becomes the fifth Badger in school history to be a finalist for the award.

Taylor is in the midst of a sensational freshman season and is currently the B1G’s leading rusher with 1,657 yards, and is averaging over 150 yards per game. He’s also scored 12 touchdowns for the Badgers this year.
Eight times this season, Taylor has reached triple digits on the ground and three times he’s eclipsed the 200-yard mark. He’s also earned B1G Freshman of the Week honors seven times this fall.
The winner of the Doak Walker Award will be announced on Dec. 7, 2017.
