Wisconsin shares video tribute to Barry Alvarez

Wisconsin paid tribute to one of its all-time great coaches last week.
The Badgers held “Barry Alvarez Day” at Camp Randall Stadium for last Saturday’s game against Michigan. Alvarez retired as Wisconsin athletic director in July after 17 years on the job.
UW surprised Alvarez that day by naming the field at Camp Randall Stadium after him. Starting next year, the Badgers will play on Barry Alvarez Field at Camp Randall Stadium.
There was also a video tribute to the Wisconsin legend. Monday afternoon, Wisconsin Athletics tweeted it out.

Alvarez coached at Wisconsin from 1990-2005, with interim stints in 2012 and 2014, and was the UW athletic director from 2004-21. He won 120 games during his time as coach to become the winningest coach in program history. He’s also the only B1G coach to ever win consecutive Rose Bowls, doing so in 1998 and 1999.
