Student-athletes at the University of Wisconsin are the latest to urge their fans to follow health and safety guidelines, as surges in cases of COVID-19 continue to arise in varying parts of the country.
On Monday, Wisconsin’s athletic department released a video with student-athletes asking Badger fans to follow those health and safety guidelines set by government and medical professionals. Those recommendations include:
- Wearing a mask in public
- Social distancing
- Washing your hands
The effort is to help ensure that student-athletes — regardless of sport — will be able to participate in athletics during the upcoming academic year. With case spikes across the country, there’s a growing concern that college athletics will be severely impeding due to the ongoing public health crisis.
