Wisconsin volleyball, for the 17th time in school history, is heading to the NCAA volleyball national semifinals.

The No. 1-seed Badgers downed No. 2-seed Oregon in four sets, 25-22, 25-22, 25-27 and 25-18. As you can see, Wisconsin was able to win 2 straight sets to start off before the Ducks battled back to avoid the sweep, winning the 3rd set in extras.

Sarah Franklin led the way offensively, finishing with 20 kills. Temi Thomas-Ailara added 11 kills while Anna Smrek finished with 10 kills.

Here’s the scene when Wisconsin officially stamped its ticket to Tampa:

Wisconsin head coach Kelly Sheffield spoke postgame, here’s a brief excerpt of what she had to say:

“Congrats to Oregon on a great year, a great match,” Sheffield said. “This was a total team effort from us. We had no give up tonight, and the amount of fight to keep the ball off the floor, and give ourselves a chanced to stay in the rally, was the best I have ever seen.”

Wisconsin is now 30-3 on the season, the 6th time reaching 30 wins in program history. The Badgers also finished 17-0 at home, the first time in school history during a non-COVID season at UW Field House.

Next up for Wisconsin is Texas, which downed Stanford 3-1 Saturday. Nebraska also reached the semifinals and will face off against Pitt.
