Each year, the Rimington Trophy is given to the top center in all of college football. Naturally, Wisconsin’s Tyler Biadasz was up for the award.

After all, he is a Badger offensive lineman. He has to be incredible.

There was some sarcasm there, but, not much. It was announced Thursday night that Biadasz won the 2019 Rimington Trophy:

Biadasz didn’t necessarily compile a lot of statistics for this award, but his overall dominance showed throughout the season if you paid attention. The Badgers were able to run the ball absurdly effective all season long in part because of RB Jonathan Taylor, of course, but also because of Biadasz.

The award was first given out in 2000 and Biadasz is the first Badger to take home the award. Of the 20 winners in the award’s history, he is the seventh B1G center to bring home the honor (Nebraska’s Dominic Raiola in 2000 would be the eighth, but Nebraska was in the Big 12 at that time).

Biadasz, a junior, hasn’t made his decision on the 2020 season as to whether he will be back in Madison or not.
