It looks like redshirt-freshman Luke Wypler will be at center for Ohio State against Minnesota on Thursday night, replacing starting center Harry Miller. Miller was among 11 players listed as unavailable on the Buckeyes status report released three hours prior to the kickoff with the Gophers in Minneapolis.
Wypler was seen during warmups working with the Ohio State starting offensive line.

No further information is released with the team’s status report, with no reasons for absence or any mention of injury, illness or disciplinary matters being the case.
Miller had started at left guard last season, but had been listed as the Buckeyes starting center on the depth charts for the 2021 season. Wypler had been in competition with Miller for the job during training camp, and junior Matthew Jones also has some experience at center.
Nothing like a trail-by-fire for the redshirt-freshman, against a hungry opponent in a hostile environment in the season opener.
