It’s early August.
Later this month, the 2019 college football regular season will begin. But as for now, it’s the time for preseason lists.
Best team, best player, biggest freaks, most overrated, most underrated, dark-horse teams, we see it all. List after list after list being made.
One list that doesn’t get a ton of play, however, is a top 25 QB list of players one would pay to see. You don’t see that too often. However, Yahoo Sports’ Pat Forde wrote an article about this list on Tuesday.
The top three are pretty understandable: Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence, Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa and Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts. Hurts is a bit different from the other two, but, he would be a fun watch in Lincoln Riley’s system.
Here are the B1G QBs on Forde’s list:
5. Justin Fields, Ohio State
7. Shea Patterson, Michigan
13. Hunter Johnson, Northwestern
17. Adrian Martinez, Nebraska
We’re not sure exactly what Forde is going for with his list. It is titled after guys he would pay to see. Martinez, at Nebraska, is arguably the most fascinating watch in college football. We don’t know what Johnson at Northwestern or Fields at Ohio State will even deliver yet.
And, we do know what Shea Patterson delivers. Yet, he’s ahead of Martinez?
It’s not our list. It’s Forde’s.
