Zach Edey had himself a game against West Virginia on Thursday. While his own achievements were great, Edey also talked about how well his teammates played with BTN’s Andy Katz.
Edey led Purdue in scoring with 24 points and also had 12 rebounds. Edey noted how the play of the bench allowed for the starters to get some much needed rest throughout the game.
“I really liked the hustle plays we made down the stretch,” said Edey. “Caleb Furst got that extra possession, Ethan Morton got those two extra possessions. Everyone was really locked in, with high energy. We got really good minutes from our bench which allowed our starters to rest.”

Following the win over the Mountaineers, Purdue needs to prepare for a tough ranked matchup with No. 6 Gonzaga. If Edey and the rest of his teammates can play like they did against West Virginia the Boilermakers may have a chance.
Purdue and Gonzaga tip off Friday at 11:30 p.m. ET on ESPN in the Phil Knight Legacy tournament.
