Zak Zinter exited last week’s win over Ohio State with a broken tibia and fibula, taking him out for the Wolverines’ B1G Title bout against Iowa and potentially beyond into the CFP.

Zinter has since had surgery and was present for the championship game against Iowa. Zinter, a team captain and standout at right guard, even joined his fellow captains on the field for the coin toss.

Get the tissues ready, Michigan fans.

Zinter has been mainstay on the Michigan O-line since 2020, making 42 starts in 45 appearances. He’s also a 3-time All-Big Ten selection.

The Wolverines and Hawkeyes are off to a stagnant start. Iowa failed to move the ball and had to punt, while Michigan was able to knock a field goal through the uprights after a grueling drive.

With how things have shaken out today, Michigan is in the playoff with a win. Let’s see if the Wolverines can take care of business against the pesky Hawkeyes.
