Ezekiel Elliott is claiming innocence against allegations that he attacked his ex-girlfriend.
The woman believed to be Elliott’s ex-girlfiend, Tiffany Thompson, posted pictures of bruises and scars on Instagram and claimed that Elliott was responsible for them. Elliott’s party has already denied the original report of abuse, which was broken by TMZ.
According to Dallas ABC affiliate reporter Mike Leslie, Elliott might have a defense that’s more than hearsay:
High-ranking #Cowboys source says that Ezekiel Elliott has messages saved on his phone proving his ex-girlfriend is trying to set him up.

It hasn’t been reported what those text messages read, but the Cowboys reportedly are standing behind their first-round pick.
Columbus Police filed a report after the alleged incident occurred on Friday morning, but Elliott was not arrested or charged because of conflicting reports from witnesses. She declined medical assistance.
According to the police report obtained by Eleven Warriors, the woman claimed that Elliott assaulted her at 2:35 a.m. Friday morning while sitting in the driver’s seat of her parked vehicle. She also claimed that Elliott was her “live-in boyfriend,” which he denied.
According to Pro Football Talk, the NFL will investigate the matter further.
Elliott maintained his innocence:
