Ezekiel Elliott isn’t a fan of players skipping bowls to prepare for the draft

Ezekiel Elliott ran wild in last year’s Fiesta Bowl.

It wasn’t the College Football Playoff, but he still used it as one last hurrah at Ohio State. In that same game, Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith suffered two ligament years in his knee and lost out on millions of dollars because of it.

On Monday, Christian McCaffrey announced that he’d be skipping the Sun Bowl to prepare for the NFL draft. Leonard Fournette did the same thing last week.

Elliott didn’t approve of that decision:

For what it’s worth, Elliott played in New Year’s Six games during his college career. Neither Fournette nor McCaffrey will play in a New Year’s Six game this postseason.

Would that change Elliott’s mind?

Who knows, but from the look of it, he doesn’t seem to be a believer in protecting against injury because of the NFL draft.
