Tom Brady became a legend for the New England Patriots during his 2-decade run in Foxboro, and now he’ll be immortalized forever.
That long-awaited statue of Brady will finally be unveiled on Friday night at Gillette Stadium before the Patriots’ preseason opener against the Washington Commanders, according to a report by ESPN on Sunday morning. Brady went from 6th-round draft pick to 6-time Super Bowl champion with the Patriots, leading the franchise to its first Super Bowl title in 2001 and bookending it with the 6th championship in 2018.
In between, there were 4 other Super Bowl title runs for Brady in New England and numerous passing records to go with it. Patriots owner Robert Kraft had already announced that a 12-foot statue of Brady would be erected outside Gillette Stadium.

Those plans will come to fruition on Friday night during a ceremony in the hours leading up to the kickoff of the preseason game. Brady and Kraft are among those expected to speak during the ceremony.
Brady played his college ball at Michigan from 1995-99 before being drafted by the Patriots with little fanfare in 2000. He was the 199th overall pick in that draft, and the following season in 2001 started a legendary career in New England.
On Friday night, all those magical years will be celebrated with the statue ceremony.
