Boo Buie, Northwestern’s star guard from this past season, announced Sunday that he would be entering the NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility.
Buie was incredible for the Wildcats this past season especially, averaging 17.3 points per game and 4.5 assists per game. He’s given 4 years to Northwestern and led the Wildcats to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2017.
He made his announcement via social media Sunday.

Buie was good because he could beat you in different ways. He wasn’t an elite scorer but a capable one, preferring to get to the line and do his damage there. He’s also an elite playmaker and floor general, with an assist rate of 31.2%, 54th highest across the entire country per KenPom.
Because he is not an elite scorer, he’s not quite a first-round draft prospect for the NBA. He’ll have an important decision to make in the coming weeks and months.
