Former Northwestern offensive lineman Tommy Doles has signed a deal with the Chicago Bears.

On Monday, the Bears announced that they had signed Doles after participating in the rookie minicamp over the weekend. Chicago also signed former North Carolina defensive end Jalen Dalton.

Doles was the starting right guard at Northwestern each of the last three years in Evanston, opening running lanes for the likes of running backs Justin Jackson and Isaiah Bowser. He helped lead the Wildcats to a B1G West title in 2018 and an appearance in the B1G Championship Game.

At 6-foot-4, 296 pounds, Doles brings good size to the NFL, as well as a significant amount of playing experience. He appeared in 45 career games at Northwestern, making 37 starts.

Doles was a four-time Academic All-B1G selection and earned All-B1G honorable mention in 2016 and third-team honors in 2017.
