Clayton Thorson will go down as one of the best players in Northwestern history, and the senior quarterback added another record to his resume Monday night.

The Wildcats are taking on Utah in the Holiday Bowl in what will be the last game of Thorson’s decorated career. A four-year player, Thorson already held a number of school records before adding another against the Utes.

After throwing for 132 yards in the first half, Thorson brought his career passing yardage to 10,622. That mark eclipses Brett Basanez’s previous record of 10,580 with the Wildcats.

Northwestern Football recognized the accomplishment:

Along with the yardage, Thorson holds the Northwestern record for completions (983) and passing touchdowns (59). Congratulations on a tremendous run with the Wildcats!
