Clayton Thorson has accomplished quite a bit in his four years at Northwestern. He’s essentially rewritten the passing chapter of the program’s record book. And on Saturday, the senior quarterback added another personal best to his list of accomplishments.

Thorson threw for 373 yards against Michigan State on Saturday, a new personal high in a game for the Wildcats’ gunslinger. He had three touchdowns through the air and added another score on the ground.

Northwestern knocked off No. 20 Michigan State 29-19 in East Lansing.

Thorson has dominated Michigan State over the past three seasons. In three head-to-head matchups with the Spartans, the Northwestern quarterback has thrown for 1,010 yards and eight touchdowns while completing passes at a 70 percent clip. He’s also added three rushing touchdowns.

Northwestern is 3-0 against Michigan State in that stretch.

It was only fitting that Thorson had another dominant performance against a team he’s owned throughout his college career.
