ESPN’s FPI has a prediction for the outcome of Northwestern’s Las Vegas Bowl matchup with Utah on Saturday.

The Utes are favored in this game despite missing several key players to injury and opt-out. Utah’s Cole Bishop and Sione Vaki are two of Utah’s biggest losses on that front. Northwestern enters this game with a mostly-full-strength roster after going 7-5 during the regular season.

FPI is giving Utah a big edge in this contest. ESPN’s model is projecting Utah to have a 77.3% chance to win on Saturday.

However, it’s worth noting that ESPN’s model does not take personnel absences into account when making its projections.

Quarterback Bryson Barnes is expected to start for Utah in this game despite entering the transfer portal earlier this month. Barnes is leaving the program as Cam Rising is expected to return to the starting lineup in 2024.

Utah and Northwestern have met three times previously with the Wildcats coming away victorious on two of those occasions.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
