From Evanston to Orlando.

That’s the next flight for former Northwestern running back Isaiah Bowser. The ex-Wildcat announced on Friday that he will be transferring to UCF to continue his college football career. He entered the NCAA transfer portal following the 2020 season.

Bowser had initially committed to finish out his career at Miami (OH), but announced his decommitment on Thursday. He now heads to UCF to play for Gus Malzahn, recently hired to take over the program.

Bowser spent three seasons at Northwestern and had a tremendous freshman campaign in 2018. That year, he rushed for 866 yards and 6 touchdowns on 197 carries. He helped lead the Wildcats to their first B1G West Division title.

Over the last two seasons, Bowser dealt with injuries that kept him sidelined at times. He played in 12 games in the past two years and totaled 434 yards and 1 touchdown combined.

Northwestern finished the 2020 season with a 7-2 record, winning its second division crown in three seasons.
